SUMMARY: For the polish company called ‘Fundacja Sempre a Frente’ that is in partnership with a UK based company called Nicola Arts, I had the opportunity to travel to Poland as part of a programme called “Photo-eye”. “Photo-eye” was a project of an international youth exchange focusing on the subject of looking at the world through photography. The main objective of the project is to increase the awareness and skills of young people in subjects of using photography as a tool in media communication to build a more tolerant Europe. As you can see above I took a range of photos.
The photos under ‘Exhibition’ show the photo that was chosen to be hung up for display at a well-known exhibition and vernissage in Lublin, Poland. My Photograph: “I’M NOT RUBBISH to be THROWN!!!” is a photo that highlights the response from women in a toxic environment they are typically forced into by men. Although women can be treated like rubbish, this photo depicts a woman in a rubbish bin exhibiting strength and confidence, rejecting the notion of her mistreatment, She has no rubbish on or around her, further symbolising how inappropriate this attitude towards women is. This photo was the only one I edited as the task given to me was to edit the one photo that inspired you the most. I edited this using Photoshop.
